• If you are not very confident about your speaking skills, rehearse well in advance, possibly before a life-size mirror. Tough times make for tough people. This can be both a good and bad thing. Improving yourself doesn’t necessarily mean changing your lifestyle completely. It certainly doesn’t mean spending a fortune down the gym or on some self help book. Everything depends on how you want to improve yourself and what you want to do exactly.

How many times have you made New Year’s resolutions that seem to run out of steam after a few months or weeks? The trick is to be realistic about what it is you want to change in your life. The best thing to do is to sit down and write a list of everything you’re not happy with at the moment. After you’ve done this have a look down the list and see how many things can be done in a matter of minutes, how many in a matter of days, how many in a matter of weeks and how many in (you’ve guessed it) a matter of months. By doing this you’ve broken things down effectively giving you things possible to achieve every single day.

By having a list set up this way you’ll be able to do something even after a really bad day at work. This will make you feel good about yourself even when you’re feeling low and give you the impetus to continue with your list. The bigger tasks then become a lot more achievable because you can save them for days when you have more time to work on them whilst still ticking off things on your list. For example; my laptop is an essential component of my job but I had been unwilling to update its virus software because I thought I couldn’t afford it. As a result it was getting slower and much harder to use. Instead of letting this continue I decided to put aside a bit of money for a few weeks after I’d been paid for a job and within a month I was able to buy the latest Mac Antivirus software my laptop needed.

It’s the little things like this that make the bigger things more achievable. Try it and you’ll be surprised at what you can achieve.

Try to find a community gardening project. The allotment waiting list can be too long. Switch to linux. There is so much free software available that you can make any dream come true, from organizing your finances to recording and mixing your very own album. Shop at an Asian grocery store. Experiment with gourmet cuisines around the world, but do it on the cheap by shopping with locals. New regulations mean that there are English language labels on everything.Start an internet project. If you are a writer, artist, musician, gossip, or parent, you don’t need mobile broadband to become an expert on your life and blog about it, its great fun and a wonderful way to help raise your self esteem.

One is money making and the other building the ultimate internet computing experience. Perfectly, these two work together as the ultimate way to generate the attention of the end user thus making them making lots of money.
